BIG NEWS! Breakwater is now an accredited Clean Marina
Breakwater Marina is now an Accredited International Clean Marina
Breakwater is pleased to announce that our Marina was recently recognised by the Marina Industries Association as a Internationally accredited Clean Marina.
The Clean Marinas Program is a voluntary accreditation system for Marinas, Yacht clubs, Slipways/Boatyards and associated industry operators; with an international goal to reduce ‘non-point source pollution’ associated with boating/marina facilities; promoting clean water and clean air for thriving marina industry businesses. There are over 300 Marinas Australia wide, with 60 currently accredited as Clean Marinas.
The Breakwater Marina Community, Vessel Owners, Industry Partners and local Marine trades were integral in helping the Breakwater team attain this Accreditation, actively facilitating and encouraging others to follow environmental practices we have undertaken at our Marina.
Some of our incentives are:
- Dedicated Recycling for cardboard, cans, plastics, glass etc.
- Community Veggie Gardens & Share Table
- "Reuse, Recycle, Reduce" Waste Reduction with our 'Free to Good Home Area'
- Compost Bins & Worm Farm
- Fish Friendly Products in our Marina Shop
- Environmentally considerate Landscape Maintenance
